I earned a BA in International Studies from Allegheny College and an MA in Middle Eastern Studies from The University of Texas at Austin.
Before beginning my PhD program, I worked for three years as a project coordinator and later assistant director at the Project on Middle East Political Science (POMEPS), editing publications, coordinating events, and fostering a diverse network of scholars. I also served as an associate editor for the Monkey Cage, a political science blog that was hosted on the Washington Post.
